Create Pantone's Color of the Year 2016 with PRAVANA

Pantone recently announced the 2016 Color of the Year - a soft blend of PANTONE 15-3919 Serenity and PANTONE 13-1520 Rose Quartz. The ethereal, tranquil shade fits seamlessly into the popular pastel hair color trend - as seen on celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Hilary Duff, and January Jones - for Winter 2015/2016. Perfect for the client who isn't quite ready to embrace the vivid, head-turning colors of the Rainbow Hair trend, these softer, pastel shades often come with less commitment.

To celebrate the 2016 Color of the Year, and to help you recreate these shades in the salon, hair color company PRAVANA has released two hair color formulas inspired by Rose Quartz and Serenity.

Rose Quartz – Equal parts PASTELS Too Cute Coral + VIVIDS Pink

1. Pre-lighten hair to Level 9 using PRAVANA Pure Light Power Lightener and developer of choice.
2. Apply ChromaSilk Express Tones in Violet all over damp hair for five minutes, then rinse.
3. Apply Rose Quartz formula from roots to ends.
4. Process for 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature.
5. Rinse using cool water, then shampoo lightly with VIVIDS Color Protect Shampoo, rinsing until the water runs clear. Follow up with VIVIDS Color Protect Conditioner and VIVIDS Color Protect Sealing Spray.
6. Style as desired.

Serenity – Two parts PASTELS Mystical Mint + one part VIVIDS Pink + small drop of VIVIDS Violet

1. Pre-lighten hair to Level 9 using PRAVANA Pure Light Power Lightener and developer of choice.
2. Apply ChromaSilk Express Tones in Violet all over for five minutes on damp hair, then rinse.
3. Apply Serenity formula from roots to ends.
4. Process for 20 to 30 minutes at room temperature.
5. Rinse using cool water, then shampoo lightly with VIVIDS Color Protect Shampoo, rinsing until the water runs clear. Follow up with VIVIDS Color Protect Conditioner and VIVIDS Color Protect Sealing Spray.
6. Style as desired.
