Create Kate Bosworth's Textured Pony

Celebrity hairstylist Bridget Brager worked with Kate Bosworth for the Hammer Museum's "Gala in the Garden" on Saturday, October 11th in Los Angeles, CA.

"Tonight we went for an understated hairstyle. The dress and jewels were such a statement and so beautiful that I wanted to keep on the cool side with a textured pony. She was going to a cocktail party afterall, " says Brager.

I prepped Kate's damp hair with O&M Atonic Thickening Spray. I dried her hair so as much natural texture as possible would come out - a lot of scrunching the hair up and then over directing the hair from side to side.
After her hair was dry, I used a 1.5 inch curling iron and picked out random sections of hair and curled horizontally. I curled up and then curled down the same section so no curl pattern was the same. I wanted lived-in hair.

Once the all the hair was set, I sprayed B&B City Swept onto the lengths of the hair and gave the hair a good shake. Then I secured the ponytail with a bungie just under the crown of the head. I wrapped a piece of hair around the bungie and secured it with a hair pin.

To finish, I used a light spray of L'Oreal Elnett Hairspray.
