Anthony Pucciarelli, Global President of Kao Group, Salon, has announced that Cory Couts, current President & General Manager of Kao USA Inc., Salon US, will succeed him as the new Global President, effective June 1, 2012, leading the Goldwell and KMS California brands worldwide. After five and a half years at Kao Salon Global Headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany, Pucciarelli also announced his intention to return to his native Australia in order to be closer to his family.
Pucciarelli says, “Cory’s outstanding performance in the last year as the leader of our USA business, the largest in the world, has made him the obvious choice of Kao Corporation to lead the brands globally. His understanding of salons and stylists is unmatched and this knowledge has had a direct effect on our results.”
“This will be an amazing adventure,” says Couts. “To have the opportunity to grow the businesses of our salon customers globally is a challenge and an honor. And, as a company, that is exactly what we are committed to doing.”
Couts will be headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany. He will continue as President & General Manager of Kao USA Inc., Salon US, until his successor is announced. This will mark the first time that both brands will have been led globally by an American executive.
