ColorProof Evolved Color Care believes in the power of giving back. Founder, Product Developer and CEO, Jim Markham, recently connected with the ColorProof community by showing the brand's support for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance and the SeriousFun Children’s Network.

Nearly twenty years ago, ColorProof founders, Cheryl and Jim Markham, received a phone call from their friend Kerry telling them she had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Kerry’s diagnosis inspired Jim to formulate his products “with all of the good and none of the bad” from that day forward, including ColorProof’s 100% vegan formulas that are sulfate-free, salt-free and free of any known carcinogens. In honor of Kerry, the Markham’s have proudly supported the fight against cancer through the years, including OCRFA’s 3rd Annual Super Saturday LA held on June 11th at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, CA. The day-long shopping event, hosted by Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman and Molly Sims & Scott Stuber, brought top luxury brands in high fashion, beauty and home goods at 30 – 50% off retail including ColorProof’s Baobab Heal & Repair!

Once dubbed the “Rolls Royce of garage sales,” Super Saturday began in 1998 in the backyard of former Harper’s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief and former OCRFA President Liz Tilberis’ Hamptons home and was so successful it has continued annually and expanded to the west coast with 100% of the proceeds going to OCRFA. The ColorProof team was onsite to show its support and help promote Baobab Heal & Repair to the over 2,000 shoppers in attendance. The event also included beauty demonstrations, pampering stations, a luxury auction, gourmet treats and celebrity appearances by Jaime King, Melissa Rivers, Lisa Rinna, Heather McDonald and Jodi Sweetin, to name a few.

“It is an honor to participate in Super Saturday LA, especially since its cause hits so close to home for us,” says Markham. “We were thrilled to see such an amazing turnout and that so many people chose to indulge in guilt-free shopping benefitting OCRFA.”

In addition, Cheryl and Jim Markham joined friend and one of Jim's original clients, Paul Newman, for the SeriousFun Children’s Network Annual Gala held at Cipriani in New York City. SeriousFun is a growing global community of 30 camps and programs around the world that bring joy, laughter and confidence to children living with serious illnesses. The star-studded event featured appearances and performances from musician/philanthropist Jon Bon Jovi, actor Laura Linney, actor Kyle McLachlan, trumpeter Chris Botti, NBC News anchor Kate Snow, YouTube sensation Jamie Lou Stenzel and actor Donald Webber, Jr. to name a few, as well as and a group of very talented SeriousFun Campers.

The evening’s program, which raised more $1.5 million, included a series of live performances, video presentations and readings that illustrated just how special the camps are and the important impact they have on campers and their families. ColorProof was a proud sponsor of the event and made sure that each guest left with the gift of DrySpell Color Protect Dry Shampoo, one of ColorProof’s signature formulas.

“Paul’s unwavering generosity to help those less fortunate has always been an inspiration to me,” says Markham. “We have been honored to be able to support Paul’s legacy through the years and are thrilled to see SeriousFun flourish. I know Paul would be extremely proud to see the program that he worked so tirelessly to create, continue to make a difference for so many children and their families on a global level. What a night!”
