But what about those beauty constants that always top our list of looks we want now? They're here, with Makeup Trend #4 Seamless Skin and #5 Rosy Cheeks proving that these types of subtle staples are here to stay.
Celebrity Stylist Ted Gibson shares his favorite fall hair trends:
At the Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 Paris show, Redken Creative Counsultant Guido nodded to the futuristic aesthetic that designer Sarah Burton embraces. The show itself was certainly all about storytelling, and Guido played a major role in helping create this story, choosing Japanese-anime inspired visors to give the girls an anonymity that put the emphasis on the fantastical clothing.
Peter Gray for Moroccanoil accented Paul Smith's androgynous yet feminine collection with soft, natural looking styles and the smooth healthy texture of the hair.
Redken Creative Consultant Guido created a romantic French twist for Valentino's Fall 2012 Paris show. The style complimented the folklore-inspired dresses with long sleeves and high necklines, and helped bring the signature Valentino femininity to the darker leather pieces in the collection.
Backstage at Catherine Malandrino’s Fall 2012 showing, models display beauty elements s-purrr-ed by cats. “The hairstyle is inspired by the 1982 movie Cat People,” says Moroccanoil artistic director Antonio Corral Calero, the man behind the hair design. “The movie poster shows this woman whose hair is drenched in water. It’s very dark and sensual.”
At the Issey Miyake Fall 2012 Paris show, hair was inspired by the idea of the cross section of a beautiful mineral rock, with degrees of layered shine.
Eugene Souleiman, Global Creative Director, Care & Styling, Wella Professionals created an ethereal light and dreamy hair look for the Antonio Marras Fall 2012 show in Milan.
