Fashion A-lister and co-owner of the internationally-acclaimed, award-winning Makeovers Salon + Spa in Easton, MA, Ed Blum, is headed backstage at Milan Fashion Week with the desire to bring all of the trend-setting, of-the-moment looks back to his salon. With 38 years of fashion industry experience, Blum is attending as many of this week’s 40 preview shows as possible, working on models, meeting trendsetters, and taking notes on the most popular hair and makeup trends.

JESSICA Nail Clinic, an upscale nails-only salon located in West Hollywood, CA, recently underwent a major transformation. The salon, founded by "The First Lady of Nails," Jessica Vartoughian, who, in 1969, opened the first nails-only salon in the world, is set to reopen at the end of next month.

Hairstylist Lora "Lorann" Thompson of Michael's Salon and Day Spa in Dayton, OH recently had a guest come in wanting a fresh new look for his freshman year of college. Thompson helped transform his style from average to awesome, creating an exaggerated pompadour with tight sides and tons of volume on top. Before Products Used:

Ruth Roche, Artistic Ambassador for Pureology Serious Colour Care, loves being a hairdresser. She just finished two workshops in Atlanta, GA where she asked other fellow professionals why they loved being hairdressers too, and why they continue to participate in advanced education. 

Each year, the Miss America Awards typically receive the most buzz for two favorite elements: the bikini competition and the pageant hair and makeup. Helping to create the buzz around this year’s pageant looks were Redken Artists Matthew Tyldesley and Ashley Flora who were backstage for 3 days working their styling magic on the ladies of the 2016 Miss America Competition.

On September 20th, Hollywood awards season will unofficially kick off with the airing of the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted live in Los Angeles. Though still a few weeks away, Redken Celebrity Colorist Tracey Cunningham has already begun working her magic on several nominees and awards guests including Amy Poehler, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Anna Gunn and Sarah Paulson. Below Tracey shares some of her top red carpet prep and at-home maintenance tips that she is using on her celebrity clients in advance of the awards.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to shed a spotlight on the 15,780 children in the U.S. under the age of 21 who are diagnosed with cancer each year, according to the American Childhood Cancer Organization (acco.org).
