Weddings are big business, and those that are successful rely on a solid checklist of organized procedures, techniques and resources to deliver brides a stress free experience and beautiful hair. Geneva Cowen, Artist Director for Sam Villa, shares her checklist.
“Since weddings are such personal events, the best advertising is word of mouth. Once you have a couple brides say they loved their hair and had a great experience with you, word travels fast…and to reach that point, you need a checklist,” says Cowen.
Joi Rooks, owner of Fresche Salon in Atlanta, GA has started a new program, the EveryDayPeopleProject (#frescheEPP), to celebrate the beauty of everyday women. Says Joi, “I am so proud of [this] project… Each month we select a nominee who is deserving of a little pampering and a new look. They are women who may not always get that in their lives, and are so appreciative for this opportunity. They receive all hair services we feel they need, brow shaping, makeup and a photo shoot.
Pivot Point International, a global leader hair and beauty education, recently announced the winners of its first global-level student “Funk Up Your Head” photo competition.The Competition, which began with Pivot Point Australia, has grown this year to include participation from ten countries in regional competitions that led to the naming of the global winners. Participating countries included Australia, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Canada, Korea, Norway, Sweden, the UK and the USA.
