The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is now accepting applications for the 2014 Minerva Beauty Scholarship. Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in an accredited cosmetology school. The application deadline is May 31, 2014.

Stylist David Stewart is offering a 2-day men's haircutting workshop on February 9th and 10th, 2014. The eight-hour, hands-on classes will focus on techniques such as razor cutting, scissor, scissor over comb, and thinning shear techniques. Farouk Systems celebrated the grand opening of the CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology on Friday, December 6 at the new state-of-the-art facility in Houston, TX. The CHI Lone Star College-North Harris School of Cosmetology offers Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations approved cosmetology, esthetics and cosmetology instructor programs. Students in each of these certificate programs may also be awarded an associate degree by completing a selection of core academic classes available at Lone Star College-North Harris.

The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) announces a new web series, Recommend and Retain: Building Your Client Base, that is designed to help students and up-and-coming stylists attract clients, provide consistent services and establish successful retail routines.
This month, Independent Cosmetic Manufacturers And Distributers, or ICMAD, will be hosting a two-part webinar series on everything you need to know about cosmetic labeling. The series will address designing cosmetic labels as well as over-the-counter (OTC) labels, and will include guest speakers giving information on various topics.
