Steps 1-2: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 1:  Comb hair down to shoulder blades and point cut with shears.

Step 2:  Continue point cutting up the sides toward the shoulders.

Steps 3-4: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 3:  Fringe: From the crown to ¾ eyebrow, point cut two fingers below the chin, creating an oval.

Step 4:  Face contour: Continue from the curve of the bangs using the tips of the scissors on both sides.

Steps 5-6: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 5:  Top front: Holding the hair perpendicular to the head, point cut the top center.

Step 6:  Continue cutting from the top center to the crown holding hair perpendicular to the head to shorten.
 

Steps 7-8: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 7:  Layers: Comb the top area of hair to the center in horizontal sections.  Bring them forward and snip from below, the right side and the left top.

Step 8:  Comb the back layer divisions in diagonal sections straight up to the center from ear-to-ear.  Point cut the ends of the hair. Continuing cutting layers down to the occipital bone.

Steps 9-10: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 9:  Layers: Take 3 divisions from the occipital area.  Pull up and blend with scissors from below, going out to lengthen.

Step 10:  Pull the sides back and use the same technique to blend.

Steps 11-13: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 11:  Personalize: Divide hair from the crown to the occipital and ear-to-ear.

Step 12:  Go up taking sections parallel to the upper division and thin at ¾ section with thinning shears.

Step 13:  Thin the fringe and face contour with the thinning shears to soften the tips.

Steps 14-15: Alexandria Step-by-Step Makeover

Step 14:  Style into waves on the upper right and left, and slide on the top using a medium iron.  Curl the lower part with an iron and block with pins.

Step 15:  Style into soft waves with the iron on top and into curls underneath.
