Blue eye shadow, anathema to makeup artists everywhere since the disco era, is back.
Celebrity makeup artist Vincent Longo revived the look for Cynthia Rowley’s spring 2006 collection.
“The eyes were a little on the dramatic side,” admits Longo, who insists the look isn’t retro in the strict sense of the word. “It’s more of an Italian movie star look than anything.”
Longo used two shades of eye shadow—turquoise and royal blue—to create a rounded eye. “It’s not a cat’s eye,” he says.
The finishing touch: a bit of blue shadow underneath the lower lashes.
