I'm in Vegas, baby! With over 900 stylists in attendance, Redken's annual Redken Artist Connection (RAC) at the Red Rock Casino and Resort is an event not to be missed. This year's RAC included Fashion Week stylist extraordinaire Guido's 2012 trend collection. From modernized retro coifs to boho braids, the collection is nothing short of stunning.
Luckily for clients, RAC attendees got a chance to try their hand at the styles during yesterday's workshops. Even Redken's marketing team jumped into the fun, using each other as models to master the looks
I'm a fan of taking pleasure in the little things: a rainy day spent cozied up to a good book; an icy cold margarita on a hot day; and, of course, a "just-for-the-hell-of-it" mani. Well, I got my wish and then some courtesy of Chi Nail Bar & Organic Spa in Beverly Hills where, in the true spirit of girliness, I indulged in their signature Rockstar Gel Manicure.

Yesterday, the LP team (Executive Editor Amy Dodds, Senior Associate Editor Alyson Osterman, Associate Publisher Danielle Timsit and yours truly) ventured out of the office and into beautiful Santa Monica. The purpose of our field trip? To experience luxurious nourishing treatments courtesy of Kérastase at Luxelab salon. Now, I've had my share of moisture/reparative/shine enhancing treatments, and I have to say that this was definitely one of the best yet.

Lately, I've been realizing I'm in need of a style upgrade. While it's comfortable to rock the same 'do for years and years, it certainly isn't exciting and, quite frankly, a little drab. So me and my dull locks took a trip to the Marco Pelusi Salon in West Hollywood, California for a cut and color courtesy of Joico stylist extraordinaire Cherry Petenbrink. You can imagine Cherry's excitement when I confessed I hadn't colored my hair in over five years... my hair was practically born-again virgin.
Whatever you do, don't call it "The Rachel." Looks like haircut-happy Jennifer Aniston is at it again, revealing a considerably shorter (and more blonde!) 'do while doing press for her latest rom com Just Go With It. I'm digging the chopped crop but the brassy orange-toned hue? Not so much. Regardless, a little style experimentation from Ms. Aniston is a welcomed change. We say, "Just go with it!"

As I blog from the press room here at the Long Beach Convention Center during the second day ISSE, I am overwhelmed, inspired, awe-struck, delighted and overwhelmed all over again. Who knew beauty could conjure so many emotions? Let me back things up a bit...

There's something different about President Obama. No, I don't mean his upcoming State of the Union address or a new tax incentive plan. Rather, the leader of the free world seems to be sporting a slightly darker (and much younger looking) head of hair these days. Whether he's combating the gray hairs that seem to go hand in hand with what is arguably the toughest job in the U.S., or he's continuing to embrace "Change," I'm definitely digging Obama's new 'do.
In the February issue of Allure magazine, Jennifer Aniston had some not so nice comments she needed to vent – and surprisingly, they were not regarding Angelina. Rather, the topic to come under fire was the iconic haircut that helped propel the former Friends sweetheart to über stardom – a ‘do known to most as “The Rachel.”

Last night, I migrated to Venice, California's über trendy Abbott Kinney Blvd. to join Philip Pelusi at The Detox Market as he introduced Tela Beauty Organics to the West Coast. Philip demonstrated the certified organic line's multifaceted capabilities on models of varying ages and hair types. I even got a chance to sample Tela's dry shampoo, which not only worked wonders on my limp locks but left my mane with a clean lavender scent that was downright intoxicating. Guests were also invited to enjoy makeup applications courtesy of eco-luxury brand Kide.
