Big Apple Beauty Bash

The Intercoiffure America · Canada Atelier takes center stage... and Manhattan.

What do you get when you put over 700 $1 million-plus salon owners and staff members, and a parade of leading 21st-century hair artists, in a ballroom at the posh Waldorf-Astoria hotel in mid-Manhattan? For the recent Intercoiffure America · Canada (ICA) Fall Atelier, this potent party mix meant a two-day event that included a show-stompin', black-tie gala; a trend luncheon; and enough meet-and-greet opportunities to fill your appointment book with a month's worth of beauty star convos.

Beauty highlights of the annual, A-list event included Antoine Greige's hot-to-trot "Avant Garde Hair" segment, sponsored by Intercoiffure; Scott Buchanan of Scott J. Hair Design's Aveda-sponsored "Illusions"; Nicholas French's "From the Earth to the Moon," co-sponsored by SO.CAP.USA and Intercoiffure; and Vivienne Mackinder's "Evolution through Revolution," sponsored by Profound Beauty. And as if that weren't enough to make your 'dresser instincts go on high alert, Scott Cole presented his spring collection "Nuance," sponsored by John Paul Mitchell Systems; and Gina Khan did the same with her newest color collection, "Pure Trend. Pure Shimmer," sponsored by Logics. What other hair heroes made the event possible? L'Oréal Professionnel, P&G Wella, Hairdreams, Repêchage, and Your Name Cosmetics!
