Cosmetology students at the Parisian Beauty Academy in Hackensack, NJ received a royal send-off this month, when a very special guest turned up at their graduation ceremony. World renowned color educator, salon owner and head of Minardi Luxury Color Care Collection Beth Minardi, delivered the commencement address for the 225 students in the class of summer/2012. And in characteristic “Minardi” style, she gave it to them straight!
“I told them, gently, that they were special, but not too special,” says Minardi. “I told them that the wonderful world of the beauty industry is both exciting and challenging and I asked them if they were up to the challenge.” Minardi went on to share the story of her niece Ali Minardi, a Parisian alumnus, who is now enjoying a successful career as a hairstylist and colorist. The secret to Ali’s success, and to the success of any new stylist, Beth revealed, is maintaining a commitment to continuing education. “Your cosmetology license is just the beginning,” she advised. “It’s your license to continue learning your craft for a lifetime.”
Located just minutes from midtown Manhattan, the modern Parisian Beauty Academy provides students with diverse cultural experiences and international exposure in a comfortable, hometown environment. Students participate in the annual FUNRaising Campaign that contributes to a variety of charities for victims of AIDS, breast cancer, homelessness, domestic abuse, and more.
