Andy LeCompte Honored as Hair Stylist of the Year at Style Awards

Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist, Andy LeCompte is one of the most sought after stylists in Hollywood and it’s only fitting that his long-time friend and client Nicole Richie presented him with the “Hair Stylist of the Year” honor at the 9th Annual Style Awards, held at The Stage at Lincoln Center on September 5th. The awards will air on The Style Network on Friday, September 14th at 8pm ET/PT.

As Madonna's “mane” man, Andy is currently on tour with the superstar, tending to her tresses. Andy’s clientele includes A-list celebrities such as Penelope Cruz, Salma Hayek, Nicole Richie, Fergie, Megan Fox, Katie Holmes, Rachel McAdams, Shakira, and Selena Gomez. His reputation has earned him the opportunities to work with the greatest photographers of our time, and his work has appeared on the covers and in internationally renowned publications including Vogue, ELLE, Harpers Bazaar, Glamour, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, GQ and W.   

Andy explains how he got started as a stylist and broke into celebrity styling saying, "After starting to work at my sister's salon at age 12, sweeping hair and answering phones, I began doing my friends' hair. I was doing photo shoots by age 15. I started beauty school at age 16, and landed a job at the Prive Salon at age 18. Because I was living in Los Angeles and working at one of the best salons, it wasn't long before I gained a reputation and started working with celebrities."
