Amy Dodds Named Executive Editor of LAUNCHPAD Magazine

New Executive Editor Takes the Reins at Launchpad

Amy Dodds, former managing editor of Launchpad magazine, was named the publication's new executive editor in an announcement from publisher and CEO Deborah Carver.

"Amy is a consummate professional truly on the top of her game," said Carver. "I am very enthusiastic about the energy and knowledge she brings to the table and am confident that she'll lead the magazine to a new level of success."

Carver continued: "Ten years ago I saw the need for a fashion-forward, product-oriented publication for the professional beauty industry. Launchpad has since achieved incredible reader acceptance. It has been voted readers' most important source of new product information again and again."

Launchpad is also the official publication of Intercoiffure America/Canada.

"Launchpad has pioneered new editorial standards for the pro-beauty industry since its inception," notes Dodds. "My team and I understand the importance of working over multiple platforms—print, online, video and email. We look forward to celebrating Launchpad's 10th anniversary by bringing our unique editorial vision—often imitated, never surpassed—to an expanded audience."

Some of the key plans in development include an expanded web and video presence, the launch of a new digital edition and other innovative social media initiatives.

Amy Dodds has worked on Launchpad since 2006, first as associate editor and most recently as managing editor. She replaces former executive editor Jeryl Spear, who will concentrate on serving as executive editor for The Colorist.
