Matrix Gets Classified
Searching for your next dream job now takes a lot less work thanks to Matrix’s new career marketplace.
Most hairstylists know that finding a job isn’t as easy as flipping through the classifieds in their local newspapers. But Matrix has created a whole new way to help stylists and salon owners launch careers. In its continuing effort to support business in the professional salon industry, Matrix’s Integrated Communications team launched
job.link, the company’s new job search website. The site serves as an innovative way for stylists and colorists to connect with prospective employers. Unlike other similar sites for salon professionals, Matrix.com’s job.link is free for any stylist or colorist to explore.
Matrix created its job.link site in response to a lingering void in the industry. A 2003 study among members of the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS) found that 76 percent of salon owners were unable to find qualified applicants to fill their open positions. “We know how important it is for the salon owners who use Matrix to find stylists who have been trained in Matrix color,” says Vivianna Barrera, senior manager of Integrated Communications at Matrix. “This site opens up a world of job candidates who know Matrix and have the ability to jump right in and get started.”
In addition to creating its own online job marketplace, Matrix.com was recently awarded its first Official Honoree Webby Award. The online industry’s leading international honor, a Webby recognizes websites that exhibit remarkable achievement in design, content, usability and functionality. “Seeing our efforts commended by a recognized international entity is rewarding,” Barrera says. “We believe that job.link will provide an added level of support for the professional community.”
