Make Change
Redken is partnering with b.cause and America’s Second Harvest to end hunger. Find out how you can help.
June is National Hunger Month, so Redken and b.cause have teamed up to raise money for America’s Second Harvest. The national, year-long fundraising campaign encourages salons to collect money by hosting charity events to generate awareness for the need to help end hunger in the United States. Professionals can log on to www.redkensalon.com and click on the b.cause icon to find helpful information on participating in the campaign, including fundraising tips, event ideas and a press release that can be sent to a local newspaper to let them know what your salon is doing.
Hosting large fundraising events at your salon is not the only way to help. Click on the What You Can Do link to read about alternative ways to participate. One suggestion is to wrap the b.cause fundraising label around a canister or jar and display it in your salon so that your clients can make a small contribution, or staff members can donate part of their tips for one or more days. Even just mentioning the charity and its importance can encourage clients to participate. Donations can be made via credit card or check, or salons using a donation canister can bring it to any Coinstar machine and mail the receipt to the b.cause organization. The How to Donate page offers mailing addresses and detailed information to make donating easy.
Salons can also compete for exciting prizes like a trip to go backstage with Redken during Olympus Fashion Week in New York; attendance at a photo shoot for a Redken advertising campaign; or having Ann Mincey, 2006 b.cause committee chair and Redken vice president, global communications, spend a day at their salon. Finally, the top fundraiser of the year will receive two tickets to attend a class at The Redken Exchange in 2007, including hotel and airfare costs. What do they say—It’s better to give than to receive? Now you can do both.
